INVENTI KIDS

Inventi Ensemble are passionate about bringing classical music to life through their interactive children's music performances and workshops. Inventi reinvent shows such as Peter and the Wolf and Carnival of the Animals as well as creating new projects that introduce children of all ages to the instruments in the ensemble, from the flute to full sized concert harps and marimbas! They involve participants with interactive elements and workshops where children can create their own instruments to take home with them! Our engaging and interactive musical shows offer primary aged children the opportunity to experience classical music in new, innovative ways.

Inventi's kids programs have featured at the Melbourne Recital Centre's 'Music Play Family Festival', Hawthorn Arts Centre, Melbourne Children's Week, Box Hill Community Arts Centre and Boroondara Arts Holiday Programs and at many school incursions. We are also delivering our kids program in regional areas of Victoria and interstate as well.

Featuring Prokofiev's well known music, this show is an exciting musical journey. With each character represented by its own instrument - the bird by a flute, the duck by an oboe and Peter by the strings - children will fall in love with this classic tale and go home with a new appreciation of classical music and an understanding of the sounds made by instruments found in an orchestra. In true Inventi style, children will be engaged in this performance through discussions of their instruments, Prokofiev's writing and encouraging questions about the instruments and the work.

SCHEHERAZADE

Learn about Rimsky-Korsakov's 'Scheherazade'! One of the most famous pieces of classical music! Just like Scheherazade! The new stories will be recorded and available for children to watch at home.

THE PLANETS

DURATION: 45-50 minutes

Suitable for ages 6-12

Instrumentation: Flute, Oboe, Violin, Viola, Cello

Our show 'Inventi Explores the Planets with Laura' the Astronaut is an exciting multi sensory experience using our arrangement of Holst's 'The Planets', new works by Johannes Luebbers as well as animations by James Josephides. We join Laura the Astronaut in her spaceship who unfortunately accidentally flies into a black hole! This means her spaceship suddenly can't tell her where she is, and so we follow her as she must meet the characters of Holst's Planets: Mars the bringer of war, Mercury the winged messenger, Jupiter the bringer of Jollity. Children will be able to design their own planets too (made out of paper plates), these will then be hung in the space as their very own galaxy!
